Senior Design Engineer - Mechanical Systems and Actuation
We are looking for an experienced design engineer to design the mechanical systems and actuation for the S-1

What You’ll Do
-
Define system architectures, kinematic layouts and installation concepts for mechanically actuated aircraft systems

Lead the detailed design, CAD modelling and release of aircraft mechanical systems, including flight control actuation, flap mechanisms, nacelle tilt systems, actuator installations and associated structural interfaces

Own the mechanical integration of actuators, transmissions, linkages and control mechanisms with the airframe, propulsion and flight control systems

Perform the selection, sizing and specification of actuators, bearings, gears, shafts, fasteners, rod ends, linkages and other mechanical components

Produce and review engineering drawings, specifications, design reports and change documentation
Who You Are
-
Degree in Mechanical/ Aerospace Engineering or other relevant field
-
Experience design and development of aircraft mechanical systems, actuation systems or other complex mechanical assemblies
-
Knowledge of mechanical system design principles, including kinematics, load transfer, fatigue, tolerance analysis and design for manufacture and assembly
-
Knowledge of electromechanical actuators and their integration into aerospace structures.

Ability to apply inventive thinking to solve complex mechanical design challenges

Proficient in CAD (preferably 3DExperience) including sketching, surfacing, 2D drawing and 3D modelling with appropriate GD&T
