Senior Rotor Dynamics Engineer

We are looking for an experienced rotor analyst to lead the dynamic analysis of the proprotor system for the S-1

What You’ll Do

  • Lead rotor dynamics analysis for the S-1 proprotor system to predict rotor dynamic behaviour, including blade and hub loads, vibration and stability​​

  • Perform aeroelastic analyses to assess blade deformation, stability, resonance and dynamic response throughout the flight envelope

  • Support the optimisation of blade structural properties, mass balance and stiffness distribution to achieve dynamic performance targets

  • Support the development of loads models for structural sizing and certification activities

  • Correlate analytical models with experimental data from modal testing, whirl testing and flight testing, updating models as required

Who You Are

  • Degree in Mechanical/ Aerospace Engineering or other relevant field
     

  • Significant experience in rotor dynamics, aeroelasticity or rotating machinery analysis within aerospace including modelling rotating systems such as blades, hubs, shafts and bearings

  • Strong understanding of rotorcraft dynamics, vibration, modal analysis, aeroelasticity and structural dynamics.

  • Strong programming skills (e.g. Python or MATLAB) for analysis automation and data processing

  • Experience using rotorcraft comprehensive analysis codes (e.g. CAMRAD II, RCAS, CHARM or DYMORE) is desirable
