Senior Stress Engineer - Composite Structures
We are looking for an experienced stress engineer who will lead the analysis of the composite airframe for the S-1

What You’ll Do
-
Generate and extract flight and ground loads for the aircraft structures, including edge cases such as crash loads and bird strike.

Set up and execute Finite Element Method (FEM) models to carry out static and fatigue stress analysis.

Derive material and component allowable properties to size the primary and secondary composite structure.

Support selection of materials, fasteners / joining methods and manufacturing processes.
Who You Are
-
Degree in Mechanical/ Aerospace Engineering or other relevant field.

Significant experience in carrying out stress analysis using hand calculations and FEM to size composite structures.

Extensive knowledge of composite material properties and failure modes.

Extensive knowledge of critical load cases, typical load paths and certification requirements for aircraft structures.

Proficient in CAD (preferably CATIA/3DExperience) including sketching, surfacing, 2D drawing and 3D modelling with appropriate GD&T.
